The RCM Department Assistant supports Alongside ABA’s Revenue Cycle Management team by assisting with payer contracting, provider credentialing, and part-time billing functions. This role plays a key operational support function to ensure timely provider enrollment, contract compliance, and accurate claims submission to maintain clean claims and optimize reimbursement.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with deadlines, and able to manage multiple administrative processes simultaneously.

Pay: $22 - $24 per hour 
Availability: Monday-Friday from 9:00am - 5:30pm (Full-Time, Hybrid)

Responsibilities

1. Contracting & Credentialing Support (Primary Focus)
  • Assist with new provider credentialing and re-credentialing with commercial and Medicaid payers.
  • Prepare and submit credentialing applications via CAQH and payer portals.
  • Maintain credentialing tracker and ensure documentation remains current (licenses, NPI, malpractice insurance, etc.).
  • Monitor payer contract renewals and follow up on outstanding submissions.
  • Coordinate with HR to ensure timely onboarding documentation for payer enrollment.
  • Maintain organized electronic credentialing files in SharePoint or designated system.
  • Track credentialing timelines and escalate delays to RCM leadership.
2. Billing Support (Part-Time Allocation)
  • Assist with claim submission and claim status follow-up.
  • Support correction and resubmission of denied claims.
  • Post payments and adjustments as directed.
  • Assist with basic AR follow-up tasks.
  • Verify authorization alignment with billed services.
  • Support month-end billing reconciliation activities.
3. Administrative & Reporting Support
  • Maintain accurate trackers for contracting, credentialing, and billing activities.
  • Generate weekly status updates for RCM leadership.
  • Support audit preparation for payer or internal reviews.
  • Assist in maintaining payer contact lists and escalation pathways.
  • Identify workflow inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

Skills & Qualifications

Required:
  • 1–2 years of administrative experience (healthcare setting preferred).
  • Experience with credentialing platforms (CAQH experience strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with basic medical billing concepts.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (trackers, sorting, basic formulas).
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred:
  • Experience in ABA or behavioral health billing.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid and commercial payer enrollment processes.
  • Experience using EMR or billing software platforms.
